Introduction
Fenix Acquisitions is seeking an entrepreneurial and highly networked Director of Strategic Partnerships to lead our firm's expansion within the B2B SaaS investment ecosystem. This is a critical, revenue-driving role dedicated to cultivating deep, high-level relationships with Venture Capital (VC) firms, Private Equity (PE) partners, and influential portfolio company Founders and CEOs.
You will be the face of Fenix to the investment community, focusing on identifying portfolio companies with critical talent needs and positioning Fenix as the exclusive retained search partner for their executive teams. This role requires strategic vision, proven business development skills, and a command of the SaaS investment landscape.
Responsibilities
Relationship Origination & Management: Build and maintain strategic, high-level relationships with Managing Partners and Operating Partners at targeted VC and PE firms who invest heavily in B2B SaaS.Strategic Growth Initiatives: Identify and secure Master Service Agreements (MSAs) or preferred vendor status with key investment funds, ensuring Fenix is the first call for executive talent within their portfolio companies.Deal Flow Activation: Work directly with fund portfolio support teams to monitor investment activity, anticipate organizational changes, and proactively position Fenix to execute new retained search mandates.Consultative Engagement: Serve as a strategic consultant to partners and founders on organizational design, executive talent benchmarking, and best practices for scaling leadership teams post-funding.Content & Brand Strategy: Collaborate with marketing and leadership to develop tailored content (e.g., white papers, webinars) that position Fenix as a thought leader in SaaS talent intelligence for the investment community.Revenue Accountability: Manage a robust pipeline of high-value, strategic partnership opportunities, with clear KPIs for relationship development, mandate generation, and overall firm revenue growth from this channel.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in B2B business development, strategic alliances, or institutional sales, with a significant portion dedicated to engaging VCs, PE firms, or C-suite leaders within technology.Domain Expertise: Deep, current knowledge of the Venture Capital and Private Equity lifecycle and the specific operational/talent challenges faced by high-growth B2B SaaS portfolio companies.Executive Presence & Gravitas: Proven ability to build credibility and establish rapport quickly with sophisticated, senior decision-makers in finance and technology.Complex Deal Structuring: Experience navigating and closing multi-mandate, high-value service agreements that involve multiple stakeholders (e.g., General Partners, Operating Partners, Portfolio CEOs).Entrepreneurial Drive: Highly autonomous, results-oriented, and able to define and execute a comprehensive strategic partnership plan independently.Exceptional Communication: Outstanding written and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex talent strategies clearly and persuasively.
